This Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta is a creamy, luscious treat that showcases the rich flavor of real vanilla beans, making it an ideal choice for a memorable Mother's Day celebration.

Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (500 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 vanilla bean (split and seeds scraped)
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons (7 g) unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) cold water
  • Fresh berries or fruit compote, for topping

Instructions:

  1. Bloom the Gelatin:
In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to soften.
  2. Infuse the Cream:
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla bean seeds, and the empty vanilla pod. Heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling. Remove from heat and discard the vanilla pod.
  3. Incorporate Gelatin:
Stir the bloomed gelatin into the warm cream mixture until fully dissolved.
  4. Pour into Molds:
Divide the mixture evenly among ramekins or serving glasses. Allow them to cool slightly before covering with plastic wrap.
  5. Chill:
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  6. Serve:
Unmold the panna cotta onto plates or serve directly in the glasses. Top with fresh berries or a fruit compote of your choice.
